What makes these "Economy Type" filters different from premium lines?

The "Economy" designation refers to our bulk packaging and streamlined manufacturing process designed for high-frequency, routine testing. We maintain uncompromising membrane integrity and use ultrasonic welding to ensure the housing won't leak under pressure (up to 87 psi). You get the same reliable 0.22μm or 0.45μm filtration performance without paying for individual blister packaging.

Are Green-coded Nylon filters compatible with all HPLC solvents?

Nylon is a highly versatile, naturally hydrophilic membrane compatible with most aqueous and organic solvents, including alcohols and acetonitrile (ACN). However, it is not recommended for strong acids (pH <3) or aggressive halogenated hydrocarbons. For routine HPLC/GC sample prep, the green-coded Nylon is the industry standard for easy material identification and performance.

Can I autoclave these non-sterile filters if my protocol changes?

Yes. While these are sold as non-sterile, both the Nylon membrane and the medical-grade Polypropylene (PP) housing are heat-resistant. They can be safely autoclaved at 121°C (15 psi) for 20 minutes. This makes them a flexible choice for labs that occasionally need sterile results but prefer the cost savings of bulk non-sterile stock.

Why should I choose the 33mm diameter over the standard 25mm?

The 33mm series offers a significantly larger Effective Filtration Area (5.20 cm² vs 4.15 cm²). If you are working with "dirty" or viscous samples, the 33mm filter provides higher throughput and faster flow rates, allowing you to process up to 150mL of

Does the Nylon membrane affect sample recovery for protein analysis?

It is important to note that Nylon has a high protein binding capacity. While excellent for general solvent clarification and removing particulates, if your sample contains trace amounts of critical proteins or peptides, we recommend switching to our PES or PVDF lines to ensure maximum recovery. For standard chemical analysis, Nylon remains the most cost-effective solution.
