9mm PP Screw Top Vial can be made of polypropylene or polymethyl pentene (PMP). Polypropylene is the most popular plastic material. Polypropylene vials have heat resistance of up to 135 degrees Celsius and are commonly used in chromatographic experiments.PMP has higher heat resistance – up to 175 degrees Celsius – and is transparent, which increases the visibility of the sample inside the sample bottle. Plastic vials have good chemical resistance, lightweight construction, durability, and economy.

The 11mm snap-top caps are made of high-quality polypropylene. The caps have a roll-edge or snap-on shape. The snap-top caps provide a secure seal that minimizes evaporation even for volatile samples. PTFE/silicone septa are the product of choice for most HPLC and GC applications where resealability and high purity are critical. Ideal for applications where ease of needle insertion is important. Silicone septa have strong re-sealing properties and can still maintain good sealing performance after multiple injections; PTFE is currently a material with good chemical conditions and can withstand strong acids and alkalis. After the two materials are combined, the bottle can be used for various laboratory purposes such as sealed sampling and chemical storage.

Screw thread vials and caps provide low evaporation, reusability, less hand injury during manipulation than crimp seals and require no special tools. All screw threads vials and caps are differentiated by their thread finish as defined by the Glass Packaging Institute, GPI. For screw thread vials, a two part number is assigned. For example, 8-425 neck finish represents a vial with a diameter of 8 mm across the outside of the threads and a thread style of 425. Screw thread vials and caps are more expensive than crimp seals.

Conical glass inserts have a tapered bottom with pulled tips and are available with or without plastics polypropylene springs. The spring acts as a shock absorber during needle penetration and raises the insert above the bottom of the vial, allowing greater sample recovery.
