FAQ

Does the hydrophilic PVDF membrane require pre-wetting with alcohol?

No. Our hydrophilic PVDF is specially treated to allow direct filtration of aqueous solutions, saving time and reducing the risk of contamination.

Why choose PVDF over PES for protein solutions?

PVDF has much lower non-specific protein binding than PES, making it the preferred choice when maximizing protein recovery is critical for your analysis.

Is this "Economy Type" compatible with HPLC grade organic solvents?

Yes. It is compatible with most alcohols and mild organic solvents. However, for aggressive chemicals (like THF or strong acids), we recommend our PTFE series.

Can these filters be autoclaved if I need a sterile sample?

These are non-sterile economy filters. While the material is heat-resistant, we recommend purchasing our pre-sterilized versions if sterility is a critical requirement.

What is the benefit of the 33mm diameter version?

The 33mm version offers a larger filtration area (4.6cm²) compared to 25mm, which results in faster flow rates and the ability to process larger sample volumes before the filter clogs.
