Membrane Selection Guide: Finding Your Perfect Match

Nylon (Universal): Excellent chemical compatibility for general HPLC analysis of aqueous and organic samples. High pH resistance.

PTFE (Hydrophobic): The ultimate resistance. Use for aggressive organic solvents, strong acids/bases, and sterile air venting (gas filtration). Must be pre-wetted for water.

Life Science Solutions: PES, PVDF, MCE and CA

Specialized membranes for protein recovery, cell culture, and microbiology.

PES (Polyethersulfone)

Fastest flow rates and lowest protein binding. The gold standard for sterilizing tissue culture media and biological fluids.

PVDF (Hydrophilic)

Extremely low protein binding. Ideal for filtering valuable protein solutions (e.g., insulin, antibodies) where recovery is critical.

MCE is ideal for microbiological counts (Gridded membranes available). CA (Cellulose Acetate) offers very low binding and is great for cold sterilization of buffers.
